Lyris has rapidly grown in the marketing platform space by buying polished, well executed discreet products like EmailLabs and ClickTracks.  While maybe not enterprise in scope, when bundled with their bid management and search capabilities Lyris is very well positioned to be a leader in the SMB space.  Further, if they can find ways to begin integrating their independent, strong offerings they will potentially become a viable offering for enterprises.

iPost is a young, small company without a large install base, but they have some very innovative technology.  Specifically, their Autotarget product which attempts to drive optimal email messages in real time.  This type of optimization is typically associated with larger platform providers, such as Alterian, because it is really driven by a complex analytical framework / data warehousing environment.

Messaging wise, BlueHornet is right on target.  Moving beyond email deliverability they’ve built out a core data warehouse used to drive more intelligent automation.  Something fairly unique in the space, BlueHornet also offers agency-esque creative and execution services.  They are wholly owned subsidy of DigitalRiver.

Question, does their message outpace their capability?

Saepio offers a very compelling story around the integrated processes needed for the digital marketing organization.  Visually, they offer a great info diagram (below) that attempts to chunk out the discreet functions:

While they have a beautiful vision, right now their execution ability is largely focused on print. There are some significant assets here, though, that a pure digital play could really capitalize upon.
